Costadoro Uganda Elgon Specialty Espresso Beans 200g

Uganda Elgon is a *specialty coffee Costadoro from the Mount Elgon region, which in espresso extractions gives a taste with notes of cherries, peaches and honey.

The Ugandan Elgon natives believe that a deity lives on Mount Elgon, far beyond where humans venture, and who, when happy, brings rain to the fields at the foot of the mountain.

Indeed, these green and fertile hills are almost divine territory for the production of spectacular coffees.

Kyagalanyi is a cooperative that exploits this potential and allows small farmers to participate in the market.

In Uganda, it operates three sustainable Arabica washing stations, all UTZ certified.

The largest of these washing stations is located in the Mount Elgon region, a program that incorporates processing infrastructure and agricultural extension services.

One of the key areas covered by the program is Gibuzale.

Located 1,900 meters above sea level, the Gibuzale washing station is the highest and most remote of those operated by Kyagalanyi.

934 small farmers from all over the region deliver the coffee cherries here.

About 270 small producers supplied the cherries for this specific batch of Gibuzale.
